| Call For Applications: Will One Of Your Startups Help Connect The World? | |
| Did you know that 57 percent of the world is offline? Through the Affordable Access Initiative, Microsoft is providing grants to commercial entities for scalable solutions that help people in underserved communities access the Internet and use cloud services. Selected companies will receive up to $75,000 in free software, services and mentorship from Microsoft to scale solutions to help close the digital divide.
Applicants must be commercial organizations with two or more full-time employees and have a prototype of a working solution and preferably paying customers. Such products and business models might combine new cloud services and applications, low-cost forms of Internet connectivity, and new payment mechanisms designed for consumers and smaller businesses in underserved markets. Read the full criteria and review the application, then encourage appropriate Startups to apply by midnight Pacific Standard Time on January 15, 2016. |

| The Microsoft Ventures Accelerator in London is a 16-week program targeted at helping later-stage Startups doing big things in Cloud, Internet, Mobile and Game development. The Accelerator will provide selected Startups with a great workspace in central London, as well as free tools, top-quality mentorship, and training workshops necessary to successfully take their business to the next level.
