Microsoft has a new set of server tools for managing microsoft servers, but also third party servers (Linux, VM Ware, Oracle…) called SCOM 2012 (System Center Operations Manager). It is a competitor of IBM Tivoli and HP Open View – but with a more state-of-the art design.  It is useful for 20+ servers, but from a sales perspective the ideal market is companies with 150+ servers, or managed service providers/system integrators.
